简介

The Invisibles started as a rumour... a myth... a hint of a wisp of an idea, an embryo in the corner of one's mind... but as time went on this notion wrinkled itself into reality, becoming first an ep, then a project, then a band. Alexander "Abstract" Posell, long-standing member of seminal US drum and bass pioneers Phunckateck, having burnt out on his "scene" and needing a fresh perspective, moved to London during the height of the electroclash years. Finding in this new avant-garde a means for broadening his expressive palette, he returned to San Francisco and whipped up a series of tracks, drawing both from his long history as a producer and from this new cross-pollination of rock, indie, dance, house, and electro... upon meeting singer Kimi Recor, everything clicked into place and an ep was born - "Blah Blah Blah," picked up by electro leaders International Deejay Gigolo and released in early 2004. The tunes were all designed to sound like a live band, while in reality being an entirely electronic creation (hence "the Invisibles"). Well, the joke worked a little too well, and Gigolo asked both for an album and for a touring act! Local dj-ing and music promotions veteran Susan Qzen was quickly recruited to play keyboards, and a subsequent creative flurry resulted in the development of 6 or 7 new songs. Live, audiences were immediately blown away by the Invisibles' unique mix of style and heavy stage presence, and they swiftly found themselves booked at a variety of venues too long to list here... suffice it to say that goth, rave, rock, punk, undergrounds of all types found a place for this upstart act. Fast forward to 2006, and the eventual release of this first album - a selection of older and newer cuts, the best and the weirdest, the prettiest and the ugliest... most people will find something to like and plenty to hate.
