The Vancouver Concert was an intimate event attended by family and friends in John Stetch's new hometown while the quartet was on tour. A pair of house microphones happened to be set up in front of the band, and it eventually became clear that the magical evening should be released as Stetch's 15th CD. The listening experience is like sitting in the audience; a real-time event with minimal editing. Stetch’s New York City based “Vulneraville” came together in 2016, kind of accidentally – a few new acquaintances got together to jam and were quickly drawn in and devoted to Stetch’s tunes, sharing his vision. Stetch says: "I've always loved the chess-like architecture in classical music, the flow and thematic development. I aim for those ideals, but I also want to incorporate the thrill and fire of in-the-moment improvisation, and the rhythms of jazz and world. I'm grateful for the brilliant interpretive gifts of my band mates who already have strong and distinct voices: Ben Tiberio on bass, Steve Kortyka on sax, and Philippe Lemm on drums.
