简介

Ola, world! As all of us self-producing musicians can put out our own stuff now with a tolerably decent sound, you're bound to get a mix like this now and then. One line descriptions of the music: "Eerie-to-gritty electric blues/rock with metaphorical lyrics, leaning to the instrumental". Or "Pink Floyd meets auto wreck on the 405". Or "Roland synth mates with Stratocaster and spawn musical kalaidescope children, who who keep a steady beat in spite of aspartame." The breakdown" The Wierd - Cold Desire, When Johnny Comes Marching Home, Girl Alone, Recoil, Winter Days, Scotland The Brave (and traditional!) The War - When Johnny Comes Marching Home, Girl Alone The Blues - Blue Line, Meet Me In Chinatown (well...), Three Blind Guitars, Ain't It Grand (blues of a sort..) This record is a product of longtime blues/blues-rock influences from the American Midwest (Grand Rapids, Michigan), and synth-rock/synth-space from Michigan and Phoenix, and beyond. Being more of a guitar player than anything else, it leans towards that. But the rhythm section has always been king to me, and being almost as much of a drummer, I hope I've given the rhythm section lots of room to breath. I'm not above using a sequencer for repetitive drum parts to speed the work process, but all "live" drum riffs/patterns were played by me wherever possible. If I could've hired Keith Moon, I would have. If you detect an anti-war theme somewhere in the audio waves of these tracks, well, you got it right. But songs alone won't change the political or humanitarian landscape. So cease being only A Consumer and write a damn letter to someone now and then. Preferably someone In Power. Enough said. Jack lives in Tujunga, Calif. and is open for gigging suggestions. Any and all feedback on the songs is greatly appreciated (like...what song did you like best?). That way the next record won't be so all over the road. And maybe it'll even have a love song. Order the cd and you'll get the classic Hermann Goering quote in the liner, suitable for framing. Lyrics and full length plays of the tunes can be found at http://www.garageband.com/artist/jacktorn. Thank you for moving your mouse to my humble home.
