Soulsista is a coalition of both sacred and earthly, its culture and entertainment, it's a representation of reality from a hip hop point of view, experience with all the sensitivity and refinement that Soul knew how to offer in its history and evolution. Innovative beats, powerful sounds, witty commentary, stylish without all the static, it's a first class trip from New York to Kingston.If music is a luxury you can't live without, then Irene can offer you that feel good dish that nurtures your mind, body and soul. Stevie Wonder, John Legend, Curtis Mayfield, 50 cents, Parliament, Snoop Dogg and their fellow comrades of music, have all grace the speakers of the fans who tune into Soulsista. Yes indeed, Soulsista is the nickname that Irene was given, thanks to her intuitive first steps of bringing R&B to the Italian audience during a time when it was very unusual to listen to. It was the beginning of the 90's, and American hip hop culture was going through one of its most important and creative moments. Irene had started writing her first songs and was already gaining experience singing live at venues in Milan thanks to help from Steve Dub (producer, musician, composer, and DJ) who collaborated putting together a production team. Thanks to meeting with Saturnino and Lorenzo Cherubini "Jovanotti", Irene gets her first break to record her debut album,"Dolce Intro".It was an innovational album for the italian market, sweeping from R&B,Hip Hop to dancehall.In 1997 the independent label Soleluna issued four singles from this album: Mi Piace(Da milano a Kingston), Ma Lasciatemi Stare, Si Puo Fare E Ricominciare and Portami Fuori Dal Tempo featuring Neffa. In the summer of 1998 Irene opens for Lorenzo (L'Albero tour ) performing with her group. She has also open for acts such as Warren G and Naughty by Nature. By this time Irene was already in the makings of her second obtained from the first single skyrocketed her to Festival Sanremo 1999/2000. Her charisma and style was welcome by critics, who commend her as being one of the best personalities at the festival. Soon after her second single," Quando Lei Non C'E", became a bestseller. Blessed with two female twins, Irene takes on motherhood and a 5 year break from recording to devot time to her new family and radio broadcast , making it a reference point for fans of soul, hip hop, reggae and r&b. Even tho she wasn't producing any records, she still continued writing and singing.Thus in 2005 she co-establishes TooDeep Records with Steve Dub and makes a fresh comeback with the hit "Prendi e Vai" produce by Don Corleon and MC Jabba who is also featured on the track. Prendi e vai was included on the Summer wind collection, which circulated more than 500.000 copies. This sets the fondation for Irenes third album. In January 2006, containing three new songs and two remixes "Dal Tramonto AllÌAlba pt.1" was released. "Io Lo So" shines true to its HipHop and Soul roots. Several versions are featured including Mondo Marcio rap rendition, Irenes solo version, and a remix by Steve Dub. Sabato d'Aprile exhales a deep groove of R&B and remix of the hit Prendi e Vai featuring Jabba of Masssive B is also presented in the original reggae version as a bonus track. Throughout 2006 Irene has kept herself busy with her radio program and with many different projects including writing lyrics for Daniela Pedali, producing the first EP. of Emiliano Pepe, and recording eight new tracks for "Dal Tramonto All'Alba" pt.2"at the Too Deep Records studio, which is set to be released in stores the first week of February 2007.
