简介
Susan Aquila (vocalist, Electric Violinist) and Rob Tomaro (Composer, Guitarist, singer) began collaborating on her upcoming CD “Broken Angel” about a year ago. They soon realized that Susan’s unique view of life, love, relationships and the human condition created a fertile arena for the exploration of songs based upon her Broken Angel character, a mythic half divine, half human songstress trying to balance divine inspiration with human frailty. Susan is a world-class electric violinist who has performed in concert and on recordings with artists such as Paul McCartney, Billy Joel, Elton John, Metallica, Led Zeppelin, Kanye West, Brittney Spears and a host of other pop luminaries. On “Broken Angel”, she showcases her vocal prowess as well, leading her killer band through intense performances of Tomaro’s upbeat, hard rock numbers, unleashing incandescent solos on her Viper violin. “Broken Angel” will appeal to hard rock fans, fusion fans, world music fans and just about anyone who is ready to hear a unique new voice in American music. In answering your query about “three artists that Susan sounds like”, I would cite Pink, Janis Joplin, and Avril Levigne. The reviews from the Reverbnation fans are in. Here’s what a few of them have to say about her first single, “Intervention”: “This is a hit right away. The female vocalist is a potential star!!!” “Finally, a song that makes me say wow!!” “I love the heart that comes out of this song. This music gives off a really truthful sound. The words are authentic. The singer reveals a style that is gritty and very good. Her performance is full and well shaped.” “I felt the depth of the artist as she began to sing. I would love to hear this song on the radio.” “I love this song because it’s very polyphonic. It’s about life. I feel it will be very successful!!” “I love the vocals in this song! The lyrics are strong, too. The singer was amazing and they put their heart and soul into this song.”
