Developing a unique sound in the brass band idiom, EBB and Flow, our third release, largely showcases original compositions by JP Balmat. With reverence to the unique sounds of New Orleans, we bring West Coast style. This new material is sculpted by a stellar ensemble and rhythm section that push groove and improvisation to the forefront. Our abilities as a cohesive ensemble have caught up with out musical taste and we were able to capture what we heard in our heads and hearts. We hope you enjoy the 7 originals and 5 covers that fill this disc. Turn it up and enjoy!!

The Euphoria Brass Band has become THE funky street brass band in San Diego. Part New Orleans tradition and street beats, part West Coast attitude and flow….and a lot of love! Created in 2011, when two longtime New Orleans musicians, Ron Bocian (snare drum) and David Bandrowski (guitar/banjo) who now call San Diego home, were inspired to build a New Orleans style brass band on the West Coast. The idea came to fruition when they approached KSDS Jazz 88.3’s “Second Line Parade” host Drew Miller (bass drum) with the idea. Through Drew’s connection with some of San Diego’s top horn players, soon Euphoria Brass Band was born. EBB boasts a top shelf horn section: Steve Ebner (trumpet), April West (trombone), Dave Jackson (tenor sax), JP Balmat (clarinet, alto and baritone sax) and sousaphonist Wayne Rice holding down the bottom. With reverence to tradition while bringing the unique multi-layered modern street sounds of New Orleans and letting the Southern California vibe shine through, Euphoria Brass Band is an undeniably unique and exciting musical force!
