On his 18th (!) album Swedish 50s artist RED WEST went through with a lifelong dream - his own Christmas album. And not to settle with hackneyed covers - he is releasing 16 original tracks to fill out your favorite Christmas catalogue. Musically A GOOD ROCKING CHRISTMAS is filled with feelgood boogie-woogie, rhythm'n'blues, rockabilly, swing and a little bit of blue jazz. Here you will find your happy songs about anticipative children, a jolly Santa, reindeer, chimneys, cars all that makes Christmas a merry place. BUT you will also find songs about loneliness, longing for dead relatives, drunk driving and even a psycho maniac killer. Versatile to say the least - but with a boogie-woogie beat. Red West wedded wife MARY WEST fronts the band on 6 tracks. An outstanding accomplishment as she had a severe horse riding accident last fall - and man does she sound as good as ever! HOT RHYTHM is Red West backup band and has been so since 2008. The band consists of stand up bass player HENRIK HELLBERG-LIZAMA and drummer TOMMY OLSSON, both skilled singers too which makes the bands live act a little out of the ordinary. On boogie-woogie piano you find JUMPIN' TOM (Thommy Borssén) - a hailed artist in his own. Another musician on the album is GUNNAR FRICK on steele guitar and accordion. Gunnar who also can be found in bands like Psychotic Youth, Ray Davies Band (Kinks) among others.
