Born and raised in a suburb of the industrial mid-western city of Wichita, Kansas, Dean Gash has been doing music since as long as he can remember. With a thorough background of musical theory and a start on piano, Gash brings a new sense of purpose to the hip-hop genre. During his formative years in high school, he began to imagine more than just playing in band and singing in choir. He discovered hip-hop his freshman year at Derby High School, and for the next few years spent his days buried in his headphones listening to everyone he could. He paid particularly close attention to TechN9ne and Eminem, and some say his style lends itself to fans of these artists. He however would argue, he alters both of their styles with his own flair, and his ability to create consistent melodies with amazing harmony. As well, he has tried to combine his quick paced lyrical style, with a background of harmony that creates an entirely new sound. Dean Gash has had an amazing musical journey since, and finds himself on the cusp of graduation, with honors, from The University of Kansas. His forthcoming album, aptly titled "A Long Road Home" is a culmination of all the time it took for him to find his path, both in life and in music.
