Born with a passion for singing, Mark Harris has been singing all of his life. His rich tenor voice manifested itself at such an early age that his mother swore, “he sang before he talked.” By junior high school, Mark was the sought after “go to” vocalist for every aspiring new musical group. He continued to sing in local groups, choirs and in churches through high school, which is when he also sought formal training to further perfect his craft. As a student at San Francisco State University, Mark continued his studies in music, specializing in vocal training. A San Francisco, CA native, Mark, who now resides in Oakland, is a regularly featured soloist for the Oakland Council 12 Cryptic Masons of California. Privately trained in classical and operatic music, Mark also played Jean Valjean in a long-running San Francisco production of “Les Miserables.” Chief Executive Officer of Songmaster Travel Agency, for the past 15 years Mark has provided Carnival Cruises hundreds of satisfied customers. At the same time, he has booked entertainment and performed in many of the variety shows he’s put together for those cruises as well. Mark performed on Carnival Valor in 2010; Carnival Freedom and Carnival Conquest in 2009; Carnival Spirit in 2008; and earlier, Carnival Triumph in 2000; as well as Carnival Holiday in both 1998 and 1999. “I named my travel agency ‘Songmaster’ because I believe that travel helps you to get in touch with your inner self, your internal song,” Mark explains. “I plan to sing and travel for the rest of my life,”
