简介
Singer-songwriter James Harker invited transatlantic collaboration for this follow up to his 2013 EP Anecdote. Harker recorded The Ebb and Flow with electronica producer Vast in a London home studio. They incorporate parts from Ebenezer guitarist Chris Donald, from just down the road, and guitarist and percussionist David Lawrie, 5,000 miles away in California. And you can also expect virtuoso fiddle playing and a distinct folk flavour, because it features BBC2 Folk Musician of the Year Sam Sweeney from Bellowhead. Harker has crafted his unique sound from a wide range of influences including English, Celtic and American folk. What should you expect? Harker’s richly-textured music has already been described as “gorgeous, soaring orchestral pop” by Taylor Johnston. Nick Churchill called his debut album The Red Room “spellbinding and enriching”. Think Bon Iver, think Nick Drake, think Sufjan Stevens, and think something new, because The Ebb and Flow tells its own story.
