Released in January of 2015, Virginia V is the first release of ambient-rock duo, Longlake. The album's namesake, an early-1900's steam-powered vessel, once carried passengers across the Puget Sound. The band draws on its own history as a Seattle transplant, seeking to bring naturalistic and world influences to a tech-driven society. Virginia V is an instrumental experiment in musical texture and emotion that pairs flawlessly with visual art and film. Each song builds in intensity. As each layer peels back, a new theme is revealed in an ever-developing drama of sound.
