Stephen Holden of The New York Times wrote this about Jane Scheckter: “She has invaluable musical skills, a bright, clear voice with a brassy edge and a luscious rounded vibrato. Meticulous phrasing, a sultry lower register…and she swings!” He summed up, “A no-frills pop-jazz swinger with her eyes wide open”. Downbeat lauded her "Ella-styled artistry" when reviewing her first album. In "Easy to Remember", her fourth CD, she continues to focus on well-known (and some not so well-known) standards from the great American songbook. It's a balanced mix of ballads, medium-tempo and full-out swing tunes, backed by some of the best musicians in the land. Her trio: Tedd Firth on piano, Jay Leonhart on Bass, and Peter Grant on drums, is joined by the legendary Bucky Pizzarelli on guitar, Warren Vaché on coronet, Harry Allen on tenor sax and Aaron Weinstein on violin. Tony DeSare joins Jane on a duet, Ellington's "I Didn't Know About You", and Gil Chimes guest solos on harmonica on "Where Or When". The arrangements are by Tedd Firth. Says Jane, “I love singing with big bands and I love it when people dance while I’m singing. So if you like dancing – slow or swinging – this is for you. Get out your dancing shoes and have a good time!”
