The Doctor (AKA Matt Neal) has been threatening to release a country EP for a long time. No one ever thought he'd do it. But he did. Having spent many years playing guitar in Aussie alt-rock band The 80 Aces (Warrnambool's second favourite band), this is The Doctor's first solo release. It showcases his knack for intelligent lyricism and ear for a classic-sounding melody, as well as his genre-hopping ability. Because, let's face it - it's not totally country. At best, it's alt-country. The title track is a regular hoe-down, but elsewhere there is balladry, a wig-out jam, and a sombre singalong that would make Nick Cave proud.
