Never to be persuaded by the trends set by mainstream music, immovable in his passion and impossible to be stopped, David Verity has released a truly classic album for anybody who considers themselves a fan of R&B/Pop music. Written, produced, performed, recorded, mixed, mastered and all instrumentation by Verity himself, this is an album that defines what true artistry through song is all about. A veteran songwriter with multiple international songwriting awards under his belt, every song on this album connects to the listener, with no A&Rs, no middle men and no fluff. Just real songs, real life, and real music. Called "The Dr. Dre. of R&B" by those who have worked with him, his reputation as a record producer certainly precedes him. As such, the production quality of this album is superb, and every song was crafted to perfection by one of the true remaining artisans of modern R&B music. In "My Rock," the true-story is told of a kid with a love of geology, who, while never managing to find any precious gems in his youth, ironically finds his most precious and stable of rocks in his partner. Rounding off the album is nothing less than a number of more great records. "Forever Girl," an unapologetically boisterous anthem dedicated to the one person whom you know beyond any shadow of a doubt is the right one for you, starts off with equally charismatic poetry, delivered through a rap verse by Verity in which he comes off as confident as any of his fellow urban music colleagues. Finally, like the sun relentingly trading places with the moon in the coveted sky, 2 bombs are dropped in the form of timeless, powerful ballads. "Wings," an immeasurably delicate yet powerful recording capturing the beauty of appreciating someone who has brought you through it all, as if on the wings of an angel, is easily a song you would imagine being dedicated to a best friend, grand-mother, parent, teacher, or spouse. While deep and complex are two words probably never used to describe music these days, they are words that describe David's compositions very well. This is because as the artist pains, so is the painter. There is nothing faked on this album, just a pure, rich and true sentimentality conveyed through careful selection of words, thoughts, emotions, and even instruments used.
