简介

With eleven original songs sung by eleven outstanding artists, "Light Of Hope" is a must have compilation album of contemporary and alternative Australian country. Ten of the songs here are from the pen of acclaimed Aussie songwriter Brenda-Lee Heathcote, and the eleventh is a bonus track from Australia's first lady of country music Tania Kernaghan, who wished to show her support for the project by offering a song from her album "Higher Ground". Shaza Leigh has taken two of Brenda-Lee’s songs into the Top 10; Bobby Cash “The Indian Cowboy” has recorded 5 of Brenda’s songs on 2 albums, one album of which went to #1 on the independent charts; The Wolverines did an amazing job with Brenda’s song “The Ballad of Young Bobby Dale” which was nominated for 2007 Peoples Choice Awards, and this album, “Light of Hope” includes the 2007 Australian Songwriter’s Association’s prestigious “Rudy Brandsma” Award winning song “So This Is Life”, sung here by Anthony Snape. Brenda-Lee has also co-written many of the songs that appear on popular Irish artist Fergal Flaherty's latest two albums. The inspiration behind “Light of Hope” was the murder of Brenda-Lee’s brother Brian James Heathcote in Brisbane, January 2007. He was a well-known and respected radio announcer and known as “The Voice of Kmart". Written from Brenda-Lee’s personal experience of trying to make sense out of a senseless event, and with the intention of trying to help others who have had similar experiences through their dark times, each one of her songs here is uplifting, inspirational, straight from the heart, and a shining example of the healing power of music.
