Merlo should sound familar to you because it is a famous wine maker. That would be Merlot with a "T". Remove the T and you get Merlo, the singer/ songwriter. Merlo's primary instruments are piano and voice. He studied classical music and the violin for 7 years but then progressed to the piano and found himself at home. He also spent a year and a half with a vocal coach at Jan Smith studios in Atlanta honing my vocal skills. Merlo spent three years writing songs for "Songs From The Ground Up" his first album. The song Every TIme I See Her hit #1 on the Broadjam online Rock chart. Merlo and his song "Can You Feel My Heart" was one of four Georgia artists and songs featured nationally on Broadjam.com. His song "Reach Out" appeared in an independent movie (Rejectors of the Blood) that won best feature film at a local film festival. I have spent the last four years writing music and honing his sound. To quote Merlo, "The album sounds like a Latin guy who grew up on pop/rock or power pop but then went back to his Latin/Classical roots in the middle of it all. Oh yeah the guy threw in one or two expensive jazz chords." And the rest is history, or in this case, "Songs From the Ground Up.
