We "Someones" are heavily influenced by musical elements ranging from classical strings and piano arrangements to hard rock guitar riffs and synth leads; "When We Closed Our Eyes" is a good example. The song starts off with a basic rock set and evolves to a rich epic ending that amplifies the effect of the lyrics.

Regarding the lyrics, these were written as a way to express the difficulty of living in a world filled with sadness, and the importance of remembering our positive moments to create a bright future with someone. Sometimes we tend to forget the best memories instead of the worst, so let's close our eyes and recollect the things that made us smile.
