Upcoming UK-based producer Jaden Merrick follows up his Defcon debut "The Search" from last year's Autumn Sampler with his first full release! With more still to come in a variety of styles on Defcon this year, Fixate certainly gives us a fantastic taste of what's in store. The original combines a well-rounded bassline with a simple but utterly infectious lead that builds into the breakdown and delivers a powerful punch. It's a tune that can work both early on and later on in a set, and has already seen early support from Manuel le Saux! Czech producer Sandeagle has been growing in stature over the past couple of years and is sure to add to his army of fans with his remix of Fixate, a taste of what's in store from album later this year. A more upbeat and banging effort, this twists the riff slightly and delivers an epic result. UK-based producer Ben Wilson aka Bonn Lewis has tried his hand at a widely eclectic set of styles up to now, and here he gives us a more downtempo, progressive interpretation of the track. His remix combines a backdrop with a chunky electro feel complimenting the lead riff and is sure to interest DJs who prefer the lower bpms. Rounding things off is Egypt-based label-owner Joe Shadows, who's imprint Nile Tunes is already gaining attention. He gives us a remix with that classic uplifting Egyptian feel to it, with glorious synths and creative arp work built upon a driving bassline. All in all we hope there is something in Fixate to please everyone, and gives another taste of our somewhat busy upcoming release schedule on Defcon!
