In Psalm 68, the Psalmist says "...[God] is the Father to the fatherless, the Defender of widows..." Mike had his daughter, Marleigh, in the studio singing a harmony part on the tune. Mike was talking about how much he loved that line. Marleigh asked, "What line?" Mike replied, "That line - Defender of the WEIRDO!" ...Hilarious prophecy in my book, because while God is certainly the Defender of the WIDOW, He is no less the Defender of the WEIRDO too! And thank God for that, because we all get a little weird sometimes! Anyway, that's how the title of the album came to us. Enjoy!
