简介
Riding high on the success of their 1985 Auburn Records debut release “Maximum Destruction”, Destructor stood poised for global domination. A newly inked major label deal in hand, the band took to the studio in 1987 to record their highly anticipated Island/Auburn Records release “Decibel Casualties”. The momentum came to a screeching halt when, in a chilling twist of fate, the band witnessed the murder of long time friend and Destructor bass player Dave Iannicca. The personal and professional loss was too much to overcome in the years that followed, sending the band into hiatus throughout most of the 90s. Since reforming and reuniting with Auburn, the band has been very active. Some highlights include: • Released on Auburn the critically acclaimed EPs “Sonic Bullet” (2003) and “Storm Of Steel” (2007), both titles selling through their initial pressings. • Performed in front of 20,000 European metal fans on the main stage of the Bang Your Head festival in 2003, along with headlining the sold out warm-up show. • 2007 highlights include: Headlining the warm-up show and appearing on the main stage at the Keep It True festival in Germany; performing their first show in Belgium with Laaz Rockit; touring the U.S. east coast and Canada with Piledriver; headlining the “Midwest Metal Anthem” festival in Chicago; and co-headlining the “Metal On Metal 25th Anniversary Concert” in Cleveland with Raven, Anvil and Piledriver. “Forever In Leather” features 11 original tracks of straight ahead, traditional Destructor-style thrash metal. Produced by Breaker guitarist Don Depew, “Forever In Leather” was recorded at Metro Sync and Noise Floor Studios in Cleveland, Ohio and was mastered by Mark Klein. Aaron "Pants" Sechrist designed the cover art and CD packaging graphics. Destructor will be performing at the 2008 Wacken Open Air Festival in Germany. "22 years after their classic debut 'Maximum Destruction', Destructor unleash another full-length Power/Thrash metal masterpiece this worth any wait! Skull splitting metal at its best from Cleveland's number one Pounding Warriors!" Martin Brandt - Heavy Magazine (Germany) "Destructor do not pretend to play retro speed metal, they are the embodiment of playing real great retro speed metal! A skull splitting album!!!" Koen Bakker - Lords Of Metal (The Netherlands) "A killer mix of Thrash and Speed metal!" Chris 'Count Raven' Papadakis - Forgotten Scroll (Greece) "Legendary U.S. Thrash Metal merchants release a killer album, more than probably exclaimed as the best album of 2007! This output brings a roller coaster ride of neck breaking rhythms, snapping guitar riffs, flammable solos, pounding metal drums and phenomenal vocals. Extremely arranged for all Bay Area influenced Thrash metal addicts. 98 out of 100!" Stefan Sileghem - Metal To Infinity (Belgium) "Classic U.S. Power metal that kicks your a**!" Ironingo Stuhrenberg - Metal-Rules.de (Germany) "9 out of 10! Any fans of Thrash, old or new, should scoop this up immediately." Chris Aiken - Pit Riff (USA) "For metal fans who like straight forward and brutal Power/Thrash metal from the 80s without any gadgets." Martin Loga - Powermetal.de (Germany) "The mighty Destructor show once again that they have the might and ability to take you by storm. From the very first tune of 'Tear Down The Heavens' to the last notes of 'Pounding Warriors', their supremacy reigns with classic metal tracks and catchy choruses drained in blood and awesome craftsmanship. They are back, and you better beware for this deadly sonic attack. Destructor are on the loose and rampant!!! Patrick de Sloover - Metal To Infinity/Overdrive Radio (Belgium)
