GABRIEL MANN IS Gabriel Mann - Vocals, Piano Michael Blanchard - Bass, Vocals Adam Marcello - Drums, Vocals A "soulful, poppy mix that reveals the complex... moving from the intense and fragile to moments light and upbeat." -Launch Music Magazine Combining funk-infused pop/rock with raucous piano playing and tight vocal harmonies, Gabriel Mann has been playing to sold-out crowds for over three years. Based in sunny Southern California, the band blows away fans with their catchy songs and an in-your-face stage show. Their fresh sound landed the quartet as the featured new act in Launch's CD-Rom music magazine. GM also secured a finalist spot in the Lucky Strike Band to Band Combat at the House of Blues, winning the house over with their energetic stage show. GM features afro-blonde frontman Gabriel Mann, originally from San Antonio, Texas, who brings his powerful and unique voice to the music. Says Mann: "I try to write the songs that make the whole world sing. Those were the ones I loved as a kid." Prior to opening for Owsley and Guster early this year, the band pumped up runners in the Suzuki Rock and Roll Marathon in San Diego and completed an east coast tour. GM played at 1999's SXSW Music Festival in Austin, and you'll also hear the band jamming on Fox Interactive's "COPS" video game. Gabriel Mann is Gabriel on keys and vocals, Michael Blanchard on bass/vocals and Adam Marcello on drums/vocals. The band released their debut album, Careen, in January 2000. Ben Ohmart of Musicdish.com says GMS is "a band that's going places. More power to their pop!" GM is currently in the studio working on their second release, which will be sold exclusively through Borders book stores. The band won a contest through Taxi, an independent A&R company, to have the new album distributed throughout southern California Borders. Marcello says, "our music shows our two sides - fun, upbeat pop grounded on a real rock sound." Blanchard adds, "we have an amazing time on stage, and our audience does as well. That's pretty much what we do - we love our music and play our asses off to convince total strangers to do the same."
