Many of the songs touch on the dealings with everyday life. In the song ‘Love’, Kirkland expresses his inner feelings toward a family accident and his lack of comprehension toward the future ahead, where as YT’s verse touches on just struggling to make it though the day to day working a blue collar job with a family to support.

Despite these struggles, there are still songs like “Don’t Call Me Tom” where the two can hardly control themselves in excitement about their love of making music. On the political end, the song “Fifty” was written directly after the election of Donald Trump and the two had to move from their respective residences.

Fifty was the first song to be recorded and finished, creating the snowball effect for the writing process for the two. Captain Kirkland is a founding member of a music collective and has released albums in recent years, this was the first time for him to record guitars, synths, midi and his own recordings; this is also Skipper YT's first release.

In this album Captain Kirkland commands production and Skipper YT adds the lyrical content and themes for these songs. Most of the songs on this EP were written, produced and recorded with very concise creative focus while still allowing a visceral energy to flow violently through a rollercoaster of tracks and skits in their first duo release.
