Josh Warshawsky has been in love with music since the day he was born. He likes acoustic, alternative, rock, and folk, but dabbles in everything, including musicals and great Jewish tunes!  Josh grew up in Deerfield, IL, where he spent his younger days running through the halls of Solomon Schechter Day School screaming Shlomo Carlebach and Debbie Friedman mash-ups. When he was 10 years old, he picked up a guitar and accidentally superglued it to his hand, and he hasn't put it down since! Josh plays guitar, ukulele, piano, and is learning the mandolin. ​ Josh graduated from List College, the joint program between Columbia University and the Jewish Theological Seminary, with a BA in Religion from Columbia and a BA in Talmud and Rabbinics from the Seminary. In college, Josh was involved in the Columbia Musical Theater Society and was the business manager and music director of the Columbia Clefhangers, one of Columbia's premier co-ed a cappella groups. He also participated in Columbia University Dance Marathon all four years, and co-chaired it this past year. ​ Josh worked as a music teacher at B'nai Jeshurun Hebrew School in Manhattan, at the Jewish Learning Center at Beth El in South Orange, NJ, and at the United Synagogue of Hoboken. He has also been a staff member at Camp Ramah in Wisconsin for six summers, serving as a counselor, head songleader, and unit head. Josh, along with his good friend Daniel Novick, has coordinated songleading at USY International Convention for the last four years. They will be featured presenters at the United Synagogue of Conservative Judaism Centennial Convention this fall. ​ Josh is currently the Artist-in-Residence at Temple Beth Am in Los Angeles, CA, where he works with the Rabbinic Leadership team to develop a new musical energy for the congregation, including writing new melodies, leading services, and outreach and engagement for Jews in their 20s and 30s in Los Angeles
