The Summertime 16’s Remix (Legends Edition) is a “giving of flowers” moment to some of Zimbabwe’s pioneering and standout hip-hop living legends who paved the way for the genre and helped carry the torch along the way. This remix features A Peace of Ebony, a pioneering hip hop group from Zimbabwe, in Metaphysics & Chief Capone - who are also celebrating their 30th anniversary since the group was formed. Summertime 16’s Remix also features the well-known and well-respected premier veteran Zimbabwean rappers, mUnetsi and Begotten Sun to complete the special moment. Summertime 16’s as a concept was originally inspired by old school hip-hop cyphers where some of the best wordsmiths would gather around to showcase their lyrical prowess over a catchy and nostalgic-feeling boom-bap beat. This is the scene we’ve set here and we hope this will take you back to the golden age of hip-hop with some current messages of inspiration from some of the finest MC’s to bless the mic!
