Pills, W**d, Liquor is the first full mixtape release from Rochdale Queens bred rapper Frank Boy. Although residing & repping the southside of the boro, FB has been a longtime affiliate of Northside’s SuperStar Jay. So it is expected that the ever consistent DJ took on the hosting duties for the project, which also features guest appearances from other notable Queens artists repping for both Southside & Northside. The list of features include TL(Haters Everywhere), Clag Cognac (Shots of Patron, California Dreaming, Loyalty) & Storm P(California Dreaming). The project is an introduction to Frank Boy who has been in the trap for sometime, providing muscle to the hustle while awaiting his chance to shine. Certain tracks on this project evoke that classic vibe of Queens street legends and underground heralds like Tragedy, Lake & Cormega, with Frank’s in-depth storytelling telling and reflections. But other songs show FB’s versatility when he crafts catchy hooks and melodies around conceptual topics that are both female friendly and guy appealing. Overall, this isn’t a bad intro for an artist who has done patiently waited in the cut for a chance at rap glory. You can hear the realness of the struggle and grind throughout the mixtape. If Frank stays consistent and further develops his more commercial attributes, he just may be someone we hear from again in the near future. Adderall, Loud, Champagne is the second full mixtape release from Frank Boy expected to release in March 2012.
