"Kill the Weathermen" is an EP by NYC based composer/songwriter Alex Weston. Personnel: Alex Weston - Keyboards, Synth Programming, Vocals Fritz Myers - Guitar, Vocals, Production Eric Reed - Drums, Percussion Jessie Shelton - Violin, Vocals Liz Benoit Crew - Cello Marty Fowler - Bass Bio: Alex Weston is a composer and pianist living in New York City. He has had works premiered by the Lyrica Chamber Music Ensemble, the Utah Wind Symphony, the Carnegie Mellon University Philharmonic, MADArt Creative, and other ensembles, receiving awards from ASCAP and the English National Opera. Alex also has collaborated with the “In the Basement Theatre Company” and currently serves as composer in residence for the NYC based company “True False Theater”. Alex also currently works as music assistant to Philip Glass. As a film score composer, Alex has scored numerous short films which have premiered at the SoHo International Film Festival, the Palm Springs Shortfest, Hollywood Shortfest, and the New York City International Film Festival. His first feature length project, entitled “Rover”, premiered at the 2014 Slamdance Film Festival. His second feature length project, “H.’, premiered at the Venice Film Festival. Alex has also written for a Ken Burns documentary series, “The Emperor of All Maladies”, and for a Showtime drama entitled “The Affair”. Alex also writes performs with various groups (My Great Ghost, Bird Call, Del Marquis of the Scissor Sisters) as a keyboard player. He is currently collaborating on a song cycle with playwright Sam Creely, premiering November 10th at Cameo Galley.
