Her rich, sensual voice and powerful stage presence are summed up by Steve Ruby (owner of London's 606 club) when he describes her as having "a fabulous strong clear voice with a great sense of time and an even greater sense of fun!" Victoria began her musical career in Perth, Western Australia where she studied classical music and jazz. After majoring in clarinet performance at the University of Western Australia, she went on to study jazz vocals at the Conservatorium, becoming vocalist with the Western Australian Youth Jazz Orchestra where she had the opportunity to support international artists such as Ray Charles, Dionne Warwick, Ray Brown and James Moody. Shortly after arriving in London in the early 90's she performed with Ronny Jordan and supported Terence Blanchard with her own band at the Jazz Cafe. Other appearances were to follow at Pizza on the Park, The 606 Club, Pizza Express Dean St, Ingolstadt Jazz Festival in Germany, the Soho and Ealing Jazz festivals amongst others. Victoria has also had a successful career in dance/pop music with the group 'Strike' which includes 5 top 40 hits and the critically acclaimed album 'I Saw the Future'; most notably being the UK no. 4 smash hit 'U Sure Do' which achieved global success and took the group to various destinations all over the world. Victoria is once again performing what she really loves; jazz and Brazilian music which led to the release of her debut jazz album ' The Song is You'. The album has received great response from the jazz press and has been heard on Smooth FM and more recently Classic FM's new digital radio station ‘The Jazz’. During the last few years she has appeared at the Oxford Literary Festival, Goring Jazz Festival, Queille festival in France, South Park Jazz Festival in Oxford, Jazz Divas Festival in the Isle of Wight, Swanage and Marlborough Jazz Festivals and the Wirksworth Arts Festival. London appearances include Smollensky's on the Strand and at the Jazz Cafe with jazz/funk/Latin band '3 Bean Salad’. She can also be heard on Latin/jazz albums Sangue Latino: Volumes 2 & 3. When Victoria is not performing she teaches jazz at Trinity College of Music where she is also director of the Jazz Choir. More recently she has started a new teaching post at Vocal tech in West London where she teaches on the Master Performance and Diploma courses.
