Dale Polissar is a magnificent clarinettist. His tone is fluid and warm; his lines are melifluous and sinuous; his ideas are always fresh and alive. On this CD he plays twelve tunes, mostly but not exclusively standards; melodies chosen because -- well, because they're great melodies and they provide wonderful vehicles for Dale's musicality. Bart is Dale's accompanist here on classical guitar, providing perfectly supportive and inventive arrangements plus the occasional tasty solo.
