OverBoost is a hard rock band from Kajaani, Finland. The band was founded in 2014 originally as a rock cover band but from the beginning their goal was to eventually publish their original tracks. "The 1st" is OverBoost's first EP and it will be released in May 5th 2017. OverBoost's original tracks can be portrayed as hard rock with a twist, as the songwriters of the band don't want to categorize their music too much. Bits of rock, blues and even metal, pop and jazz can be heard from OverBoost's songs. "The 1st is our proof that a riff-driven rock is alive and well! Our vision from the day one was to make music that sounds like us, hard rock, blues, pop, jazz.. We don't want to restrict our creativity by labeling our songs strictly into one genre." says Hanne Kivioja, the lead singer and co-songwriter of the band OverBoost. Major influences for the 1st's tracks were albums like Guns N' Roses - Appetite for Destruction, Hanoi Rocks - All Those Wasted Years, Slash feat. Myles Kennedy & The Conspirators - Apocalyptic Love, Slash feat. Myles Kennedy & The Conspirators - World On Fire, Led Zeppelin - IV. These albums have had a huge role especially in OverBoost's guitarist's and co-songwriter's Olli Moilanen's whole musical background as well as the sound of OverBoost's "The 1st". Also, Myles Kennedy is one of the biggest role models for Hanne, the singer of OverBoost. OverBoost is: Hanne Kivioja, vocals Arto Moilanen, drums Olli Moilanen, guitars Antti Saavinen, bass.
