What do the bands Stone Temple Pilots, AC/DC and Oasis all have in common? They are all brother/brother rock and roll powerhouses. Well, Afterglow is no exception. After years playing in separate bands, touring, recording and playing at many well know venues across western North America, Podritske brothers Adam (25, guitar/vocals) and Aron (23, drums) finally decided to combine their experience and creativity in the spring of 2005. Based out of Vancouver B.C., Afterglow spent their early stages crafting a solid repertoire of driving, hook-filled rock tracks and teamed up with 2007 Juno nominated producer/engineer/bassist Rick Salt (David Gogo etc.). The songwriting talent of Adam, combined with the creative input of Aron and Rick Salt acting as producers generated a rippin' six song E.P, titled “Yellow Brick Drive”, released independently August 1, 2007. Afterglow knows the importance of self-promotion as well as keeping up to date with the changes in the music industry. The group has now launched and internet Campaign, featuring their music on social networking sites, such as facebook and myspace. The debut album is also distributed online by www.cdbaby.com. “Yellow Brick Drive” is now available for sale on 20 online companies, including iTunes and Verizon wireless phones. Afterglow is committed to writing hit songs and constantly honing their live performance. The band has played many packed venues in its young life and will continue to do so. Playing clubs in Vancouver such as The Buffalo Club, The Railway Club, The Roxy and The Media Club, Afterglows goal is to get their sound out to as many people as possible. Some of the band's achievements thus far include opening for The Armchair Cynics; being featured on CFOX's Indie Night in Canada; and charting in the top five on west49.com. In the future the band plans to work with many other musicians in order to collectively achieve as many goals as possible. A full-length album is definitely in the works and the band is also working on plans for a tour. Afterglow is a serious band, with serious aspirations of success both as people, and as musicians. With the brother's previous experience in the industry, their steady drive and upbeat, catchy rock melodies, Afterglow is sure to be heating their way up the charts in no time.
