Kicking off this year's SLD release catalogue, the techno wonder Carlos Stefano, serves up an audacious 2 track E.P. that is a great sign of things to come for this artist over the next 12 months. Lead track 'Tongsai' brims with the now familiar Carlos sound of running percussion and a churning bass line before plunging listeners into fist pumping euphoria that would be an eligible candidate for the climax to any DJ set. 'Hong Kong' again draws on Carlos's sublime techno style but is this time crafted around a central hook that teases its way through the track with a cleverly plucked essence. Complimenting each other, both songs exemplify the production skills of one remarkable talent.
