Mr. Bear (A.K.A. Jamie Pearson) is an English digital musician originally from Thirsk, UK, formerly based in Austin, Texas, and currently based in Bradenton, Florida. ­After fifteen years of playing in various U.K. punk and ska bands, Mr Bear decided to go solo, and concentrate on his lifetime love of electronic music. Utilizing nothing but a laptop, a bunch of music programs, and a head full of noise, Mr. Bear composes records and produces all his music at home, or wherever he is, as long as he has his laptop handy. Musical styles range from ambient, chillout and downbeat to techno, electro, IDM, drum & bass and good old fashioned pop music. Mr. Bear also makes time for ‘Cut & Paste’ remixes, mixing famous and not so famous tunes into one big mashup, which he gives away for free. Mr. Bear’s music has recently been used on promotional videos for the U.S. based yoyo company, Yoyofactory, featuring some of the world’s best yoyo players. The videos have attracted more than twenty thousand viewers on YouTube alone. Mr. Bear’s music is also featured on a Yoyofactory instructional DVD, as well as a U.K. instructional DVD for the Japanese skill toy ‘Kendama’. Mr Bear's music is also used on Yoyo tutorial videos for www.rethinkyoyo.com. Mr. Bear has released three full albums to date. The first, ‘Moozix’, released in 2008 is a mix of techno, electro, ambient and downbeat. The second release, ‘No Sleep Till Bleep’ released in 2010 on Big Phil Records (Mr. Bear’s own label, run with his wife, Mrs. Bear) concentrates more on the upbeat techno and electro side of Mr. Bear’s music, as well as his love of 80’s video game music. Wind Farm was released in early 2011, and is a collection of ambient and chillout work. 'Papillon' is the first of hopefully many e.p's to be released during 2011 and 2012, featuring the title track, remixes and alternate versions of the same track. Papillon starts as a drum and bass track, gradually becoming more ambient as the e.p. goes on.
