Performed by: Harry Evans, George Baker, Sony Tappin and Sam Evans. Neon weekend is the first release by Harry Evans. Influenced by artists ranging from Newton Faulkner to Led Zeppelin, this EP takes on the feel of summer, with vibrant guitar hooks, punchy drums, and catchy vocal lines. Recorded in the sunny county of Kent, England, this 5 track EP was written and produced over the space of 12 months. Neon Weekend- An upbeat combination of Latin, Rock and Indie music. Written as a result of an impromptu hangout with guitarist George Baker, where his improvisation kick started the writing process, for Harry Evans to add guitar, bass, and drum lines, as well as lyrics. The song concludes with a catchy guitar riff created by Baker, and draws to a close at 5 minutes and 11 seconds. Streetlights- Written in early May of 2015, this song draws on rock distortion, and funk bass-lines and drums. The song was written by Harry Evans as a result of a long journey and a lot of free time, from which the music and lyrics came easily The song was originally produced by a friend, before being professionally rerecorded and produced by Anchor Baby Recording Studios. Covers- Taking inspiration from typical pop songs about love, this song is written as an ironic standpoint on the clichés of pop music, with its simple chord progressions and catchy vocal melody. However, interest is added through it's distinctive drum lines and distorted guitar sounds to create a slightly different take on the standard love song idea. Jessica- Written as a closing song for live performance, Jessica incorporates hard drums with interesting guitar melodies to excite audiences. This more technical recorded version was the first track to be recorded for the EP, and includes multi-tracked guitar parts, as well as clean vocals and punchy drums. The only song on the EP recorded by guest drummer Dave Latunde, this song also had a music video made for it in March of 2016. Neon Weekend (Acoustic)- Composed by Harry Evans and George Baker whilst sitting in his living room playing an old out of tune piano, this song was the perfect answer to the question; "How does this EP end?" A slower and deeper version of the title track, this song resonates with it's acoustic guitar and piano duo and gentle vocals that make this the perfect close for a high energy EP.
