Originally released in 2002, Rivers... wears it influences on its sleeve, revealing what was then an obsession with electro acoustic composers, especially Arne Nordheim, whose works remains an important touchstone. Thematically, the album dealt with the ideas of rivers as boundaries between worlds, a theme of liminality that continues to inspire Gydja material.
