简介
Gwyneth Moreland is not your typical Northern California folkie. Using her multifaceted voice, accordion, piano, guitar and ukelele, Gwyneth creates a diverse sound that has been described as sounding like "Regina Spector jamming out with Mother Maybelle Carter in a french cabaret." With the release of her first solo album, Gwyneth is currently embarking on her solo career. Her musical style is rooted deep in the American Tradition with a foundation formed in old-time, blues, true American country and pop. Since 2000, Gwyneth has been a crucial member of a tight-knit group of musicians that claim the Northern California town of Mendocino their home base. Among this growing family of musicans is ever popular Goth queen Emily Jane White, with whom Gwyneth has often shared the stage. Gwyneth is a lead vocalist in her brother Morgan Daniel's acoustically charged band, Foxglove. With Foxglove, she has opened for such artists as Dan Hicks and the Hot Licks and Jesse Winchester, shared the stage with Joe Craven and played with guitar hero Nina Gerber . A founding member of the sweet Americana band, The Blushin' Roulettes, Gwyneth performs often with this increasingly popular California Country band. Gwyneth and The Roulettes recently performed at the Kate Wolf Memorial Music Festival. She has been a featured accordionist and singer in the raucous country-punk band The Kerosene Kondors, with whom she has opened for The Devil Makes Three and Wayne "The Train" Hancock. Her much anticipated debut solo album, titled "Wishbone" is an eclectic and heartfelt release. The album was produced and recorded by Calvin Turnbull at Old School Studio, Caspar, CA. Guest musicians include Emily Jane White, David Hayes (VanMorrison) as well as many others. Gwyneth Moreland's music is all American. Her clever lyrics and heartbreaking vocals that have been compared to Iris Dement, will cause you to drunk dial your friends about her...again.... and again...
