The Helium EP consists of 4 tracks that encompass Gabriel’s different influences and styles. The opening title track, Helium, is a powerful folk-rock anthem about reconnecting with nature and feeling more alive than ever, a message to remind ourselves to care about our planet. Night Flight is a hard-punching grunge-tinted rock song about getting a helping hand through dark times. The third track, A Sign That Never Comes visits the more folky side of Gabriel’s songwriting, a song about being stuck, desperately waiting for something to happen. The closing track is 23, recorded in one take, to capture the intimacy of this song about the fears, struggles and realisations that come with growing up and chasing one’s dreams.
