简介
Official site: http://www.thedrymouths.com/ The Dry Mouths are an alternative/stoner power trio from the Almería desert (Spain). The band was founded in 2006 and has released three studio albums to date: “Lost Bow Case Eckard” (2010), “Moons True Delay Lenght Wah Foo Era” (2012) and “And Show Us” (2013). Their music is a cocktail of 90´s Alternative rock and Stoner and Post rock, with noticeable influences from the likes of Nirvana, Black Sabbath and Pink Floyd, as well as contemporaries such as Biffy Clyro, Mogwai or Explosions in the Sky, all of which blend into the beam of originality to be found in the band´s kaleidoscopic compositions. In March 2013 The Dry Mouths released their third studio album "AND SHOW US", recorded at Fusible Estudio (Almería) in December 2012 and produced by Raúl Parra and The Dry Mouths. "And Show Us" is receiving excellent reviews, leading to the band being profiled and interviewed in the most important magazines and websites in Spain, such as Mondosonoro, Rockzone, RockEstatal and La Heavy. "...choruses and melodies that hover in the subconscious days after listening to them...". Furthermore, the first single off the album, "Harry Reems", and the video "Making Off" (en realidad debería ser of, no off) which shows the recording of the album, have been highlighted and played by a multitude of radio stations, internet Podcast programmes and Spanish television channels. In terms of sound, "...And Show Us..." is made up of multiple textures and dynamics, enriched by the band´s fanaticism when it comes to effect pedals, distortions, amps, echoes and changes in intensity which, added to a perfectly bound and almost mathematically rhythmic base, make the instrumental part of the album able to evoke emotions on its own. To mark the release of their third album, The Dry Mouths take to the road once again on their 2013 National Tour, a tour which will see them perform in cities such as Madrid, Valencia, Barcelona, Murcia, Sevilla, Granada and Cadiz. The group are also contemplating trying their luck abroad, after having completed the tour of Spain. The Dry Mouths have received very positive reviews in the specialised press for their previous works, with their first EP (Lost Bow Case Eckard, 2010) being selected within the top 10 demos of 2010 by Mondosonoro, leading the band to play the Monkey Week festival of 2010. To mark the release of their second work (MTDLWFE, 2012), The Dry Mouths completed a national tour, playing over 30 dates in 2012. The Dry Mouths offer their new album "...And Show Us..." on their website www.thedrymouths.com , as well as other free downloads, videos, live performance videos and the 2013 Tour dates. REVIEWS CHYBUCCA SOUNDS feb 2013 "For a genre that’s repeatedly declared dead, rock’s still alive and well. If anything, we’re currently in the midst of a revival: the power-trio is back. Some would argue that’s it’s never gone away, but there’s always been a strong case for a three-man unit that are capable of delivering catchy hooks and euphoric choruses. Spanish trio, The Dry Mouths, have been around for six years, slowly transforming their proggy post-hardcore origins into a radio-friendly sound that is more akin to the riff-rock assault of grunge, than the angular complexity of the Mars Volta. In essence, they’ve decided on a formula that will allow sweaty groups of adolescents the chance to release their testosterone-fuelled anger in arena-sized whirlpools; if it keeps the next generation of rockers onside, that’s no bad thing" SLUDGELORD March 2013 "The Dry Mouths play an intriguing blend of Grunge, Alt-Rock, Stoner Rock and even Post-Rock at times. They are influenced by Sabbath, Nirvana, Oceansize, Biffy Clyro and Explosions In The Sky. Sound weird and wonderful. Well it is. And it ****ing works wonders. They have released 3 albums so far. With their latest album - And Show Us - being the best by far And Show Us is a superb release which grabbed me by surprise as I wasn't expecting the sheer scope of noise and effects of what the album contains. The Dry Mouths have a keen experimental side which they play brilliantly to their advantage. One minute they are playing a straight up Stoner Rock track and the next it changes into a mid-90s Grunge Rock classic vibe. Then they start adding Post-Rock vibes to confuse you yet again. But its do damn catchy and hard-hitting at the same time. So do yourself a favour and check this amazing Stoner Rock band now!!! - You won't regret it. Excellent and Highly Recommended."
