简介
Stotram is a Sanskrit word that means eulogy or hymn of praise and prayer, which is dedicated to a certain deity. Mohani Heitel sings all the stotras of this series in her own musical composition accompanying herself with Tanpura. Most of these stotras were written by the medieval Indian saint Adi Shankara. Singing stotras or listening to them with undistracted attention helps to feel the presence of the corresponding deity, and serves to express devotional feelings. Mohani Heitel has compiled six parts which contain Shiva stotras (Vol. 1 and 2), Devi stotras (Vol.1 and 2), and one each for Vishnu stotras, and one for stotras of Ganesha together with Subrahmanya (Kartikeya). Devi Stotras Volume 1 contains the hymns of Goddess Bhavani, well known as Durga. As universal mother she is easy to access, as she is compassionate, forgiving and benevolent to those who try to approach Her with heartly devotion. Tripura Sundari and Rajarajeshvari stotras reveal Her glorious appearances. Mahishasura Mardini praises the victory over the evil spirits. Bhavani Ashtakam depicts Her as ultimate refuge of the spiritual aspirant and in Narayani Stuti deep reverence towards Her glory and omnipresence is expressed. Her transcendental form and sublimity are adored in Bhavani Bhujangam. In Devi Aparadha Kshamapana Stotram Her forgiveness is emphasized. Devi Kavacham serves as an armour to prevent from evil.
