The Sissy Fits are releasing their first single, ‘Lady Boss,’ on Sunday August 5th at On the Rocks in Edmonton, then taking their girl-gang party on the road through Europe. The trio of Brittany Watkins, Jenesse Graling and Jasmine Ming-Wai Ma — along with DJ Thomas Scott — are playing one of Sweden’s biggest festivals, Live At Heart, as well as dates in Germany and the Netherlands. ‘Lady Boss’ is a fun and fierce anthem, showcasing the band’s signature sound — a blend of pop harmonies, EDM drops, rock ‘n’ roll guitar riffs, hip-hop beats and rebellious lyrics. “We love our music to be fun and super energetic, but it’s awesome when we can sneak in a message,” says Brittany. “We’re dancing and partying, having a good time, but the message behind the song is very important: We’re all really strong and independent women. We’re a bunch of lady bosses and we can do everything on our own.” These three women are the ultimate lady bosses, getting their start playing bar gigs in junior high. Before joining forces as The Sissy Fits, they enjoyed success with other projects — Jasmine as a member of Dreamface, Brittany and Jenesse as Sister Gray. With the help of Blackbox Universal, Dreamface landed radio play across North America, multiple song placements in TV programs and commercials, and two videos on MuchMusic. Sister Gray was Sonic 102.9’s first female Band of the Month and winner of the 102.3 Now! Radio Breakout Artist of the Year in 2015, awarding them the grand prize of $50,000.
