简介

“I was really into believing that for something to ‘rock’, it doesn’t have to have distorted guitars. It just needs that ‘rocking’ rhythm”. Mark Daniel has always enjoyed rock music, but on the project TRAIN WRECK, he wanted to bring rock with different instrumentation. That’s why he used some of the finest Nashville session musicians. It took a couple of years to finish this project and he worked miscellaneous jobs with modest income to pay for these recordings. “Gold records all over the walls” is how Mark describes his sessions with drummer and percussionist Tom Roady. Tom brought a wealth of experience to the project and Mark feels privileged to have worked with him before he passed. “It was a boy named Carroll” is what Mark says is the heart of the TRAIN WRECK project; his engineer/producer, Carroll Miller. “Carroll knows all the veteran Nashville session musicians, and they really completed the ideas I started”. “I know what I like and play what I like” is what Mark says about his alternative musical style. People say his music has an underlying Beatles influence but Mark says, “I really didn’t listen to much Beatles growing up”. “Born in Oxford Mississippi”, is where Mark says he got his musical start with his talented grandfather who had a small business teaching guitar, fiddle, drums, bass, and other instruments. He played in a band in front of the whole junior high school after learning the guitar for only six months. “Summertime” was the title of a song that Mark wrote in elementary school and was selected as the best song from his school put to music by a Nashville songwriter. Those lyrics were displayed at the Country Music Hall of Fame. “I’ve been in and out of bands since I was fifteen” is where Mark honed his skills as a musician and a songwriter. His music was played on several local radio shows as well as college radio stations. “The boro” is where Mark went to college at Middle Tennessee State University where he got a B. S. degree in recording industry taking business classes and studio and recording classes to fulfill his commitment to the school of Mass Communications. “I like playing for regular people” is what Mark says since he has been playing at various songwriter nights. “It’s a good sounding board to play for your worst critics, but I still would rather play for the ‘every man’.”
