Boisterous old songs made of wood and iron. The Blue Rock Boys' second installment of standard songs and tunes from Ireland, Scotland, and England, done Cincinnati-style. This kind of folk music is of a dismal but ruddy tradition, full of disease and shipwrecks and war and fistfights and gunfights and love and false lovers and murder and croaking and imbibing. Remarkably, there are fewer people dying on this album than there were on our first. Most of these songs are very old, but full of as much gumption and vinegar as when they were written. Some stories never die.
