Barry Reid is a four time Flame Awards nominee gospel artist from the Island of Barbados. Performing for the last 13 years, he has shared the stage with a great many local and international artistes at events such as GospelFest, as well as in Canada, St. Lucia, Grenada and Trinidad. Barry has already released 3 singles which received considerable airplay on local radio, Amazing Grace, Over and Over Again and Embrace Me. He also released two collaboration singles, It’s a Brand New Day and Weeping May Endure for a Night. These releases gained him his 4 Flame awards nominations. Barry was also part of two major “love campaigns”. In 2011 he was a part of the “HIS Love” Campaign, an outreach campaign to youth in the nation’s schools which was spearheaded by Kayrie Rice of Renewed Media and Entertainment. In conjunction with other Barbadian artistes, including Neil Crichlow, Makonem Hurley, Sirrah, Larix and Nicovia, a single was released to radio stations along with a music video that was aired on the local Caribbean Broadcasting Corporation’s television station. The second campaign was the “LOVE Campaign”, a drive towards HIV/AIDS awareness spearheaded by former Miss Barbados World Miss Leah Marville. Both campaigns, targeted at the youth of Barabdos snd involving live performances at local schools, raised profile of Barry Reid as a local gospel artiste and has made him much more recognizable to his audience and building a local fan base. Barry Reid’s overall vision is to reach the youth of the world and transform lives with his music by influencing through his positive lyrics and inspired melodies.
