One of the main reasons for the name TraceNine centered around the word “Trace” which by definition means proof of existence. On that same line, tracers are special bullets that are modified to accept a small pyrotechnic charge in their base. Ignited upon firing, the composition burns very brightly, making the projectile visible to the naked eye. This enables the shooter to follow the bullet trajectory relative to the target in order to make corrections to their aim. The ninth round in a machine gun belt is commonly utilized for the tracer bullet. This is TRACENINE. TraceNine has experienced first hand the multiple levels of corruption which exist in the industry today. The last big heartbreak came when a $1.2 million dollar recording contract with an independent label out of Los Angeles fell way short of the agreed terms. After MANY broken promises and missed deadlines the band put the label on notice, licked their wounds and set fire to the contract. Not ones to dwell on the negative, T9 took fate into their own hands and created their own label, publishing and management company in silent partnership with a handful of trustworthy industry reps. The members of TraceNine share a sincere passion for life, music and justice. From day one they made a pact to check their ego’s at the door and focus on what was best for the band. The end result is an extraordinary synergy which cannot be denied. Making this CD was yet another crazy, beautiful musical journey for the members of T9 and producer KOiL (who was also at the helm for the bands breakout CD "Breaking Silence". These songs were recorded over a couple of years and in various studios in Cambridge, Brantford, Kapuskasing, Vancouver and finally Fergus. The original plan was to release these songs as singles but the T9 Militia let it be known that they wanted another full length follow up. The band opted to call this album "Rectify" which means "to right what is wrong".
