Atlanta-bred producer Neal Howard's third internationally released LP, "Delusions of Grandeur", is something akin to dropping Molly before a 69-minute jam session with Coltrane, Dr. Dre, and The Funk Brothers. Each of its 25 tracks is rife with genre-bending hip hop/future-soul fusion, and while they somehow all blend together perfectly as a whole, no song mimics any of its predecessors. Some melodies, as well as many of the album's chest-caving drum tracks, smack of the dirtiest Dirty South trap, others preview what it might be like if Harold Melvin & The Blue Notes got "turnt" on a Friday night in College Park.
