MoonRunner’s sound can not be pinned down to a single style and its members do not draw from a single inspiration when crafting their songs. MoonRunner draws from popular genres such as Blues, Folk, Bluegrass, and Rock to create a soundscape which is uniquely American. MoonRunner accomplishes this through unique instrumentation and unpretentious songwriting which sticks to the basics: melody driven songs crafted to keep audiences captivated. With seven members, MoonRunner is like a family. This is MoonRunner’s greatest asset. Each member of MoonRunner brings his or her own unique musical styling’s which allows every song to develop its own unique characteristics. These elements are what create MoonRunner’s sound. For the last three years, MoonRunner has been honing its promotional skills by arranging engagements at every local venue in Columbia, along with large venues in St. Louis, Kanas City, and Lawrence, KS. These engagements included benefit concerts which aided relief efforts in Japan, Ghana, and Sri Lanka. Recently, MoonRunner has found success booking a series of concerts promoting the release of its latest EP. The concerts took place at a number of local venues including Mojo’s and The Blue Note, and culminated in an EP release party featuring live bands at Orr Street Studios and Gallery and an opening spot at The Blue Note featuring the regional act Ha Ha Tonka (BloodShot Records, Chicago). From continued concert booking and promotion dates, has successfully financed the production of CDs and merchandise. MoonRunner has found recent success and is excited about any further engagements in the future.
