简介
For centuries friends have gathered around the hearth to share food and drink, music and community. It is from this tradition that The Unbroken Circle and this recording came to be. Brought together by a shared love of old time, bluegrass, and string band music and the common thread of Wake Forest University, faculty, staff, students, and alumni have been gathering together for over a decade. Once a month, in an unbroken living room circle, often by the hearth, we share. And on very special occasions like this, our circle expands to those who are touched by the music and respond generously to the charities we support. We invite you to listen beyond the notes to Songs from the Hearth. Be warmed by our friendship and the purity of our heartfelt traditional music. And know as you listen, through the work of Piano vs. Poverty and your generosity, this world is becoming a little closer, a little warmer, and a little more harmonious. This album features current Wake Forest students Ella Allman, Will Huesman, Jordan Lee, and Lando Pieroni; faculty members Billy Hamilton and Ed Wilson; administrators Kate Brooks, Linda Luvaas, and Martha Allman; alumni Bailey Allman, Joe Allman, and Jodi Hildebran; and special friends Billie Feather and Sara Pesek. In reality, we are only a portion of The Unbroken Circle. We are grateful to the other musicians, music lovers, friends, and family members who encourage us, play music with us, and make this a community like no other.
