简介
The story of Takin' it Back is the modern exploitation movie hip-hop refused to make, uncovered from its original vault, where it had been since its initial filming in 1974. The story was adapted for modern times by K.R.O. in an effort to retell these classic tales of yesteryear. Here, K.R.O. returns to his old neighborhood only to find it overrun with automated, crack-selling cyborgs who want to rid the world of funk that isn't sampled or in commercials. With the help of his friend, Cooch Dog Love Money, K.R.O. sets out to take the streets back from crack, bring the funk back, and give all hoes and foes a big backhanded pimpslap. Woven among this tale are tracks of the true funk, played by a band by hand, dig? While the beats have been sliced and diced, the middle layers are straight-up original guitars, bass, horns and keyboards, just like the funk James Brown and Bootsy used to make. K.R.O. and the House Band of the Apocalypse are here to take this funk back from those who have abused it and give it to you, raw and uncut.
