Following in the foot steps of many recording artists who chose to express their activism for social causes in their music, such as Billie Holiday, Nina Simone, Marvin Gaye, James Brown, The Isley Brothers and Stevie Wonder to name a few; Ms. Irene Renee has chosen to lend her talent and voice to the issues of today. Collaborating with rapper, Crowned1 and given permission by the King Foundation, Ms. Irene Renee was able to bring forth her vision and version of a conscientious song addressing the seriousness of our 21st century society - the struggle that still persists between races. She aptly infused her R&B/Gospel melodic roots with a bit of a hip-hop flare through instrumentation & a rap feature, to infusing the likeness of the late great Civil Rights Activist, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. to deliver a moving universal message in N.J.N.P. (NO JUSTICE - NO PEACE).
