Travis has been playing drums in punk, metal, alternative, and acoustic rock bands since the age of fifteen. His subsequent bands and passion for drumming, had led him to a new addiction- Guitar. After writing very bad lyrics and even worse songs, good material started to rear it\'s pretty little head in 2002. Travis had a knack for writing songs people could relate to- and the hooks kept coming. \"Instinct,\" a self released debut had showcased the beginning of Travis\' pop, rock, and at times blues/rock songwriting. \"Home\" a folky acoustic ballad, had peaked some interest in Nashville and will be seen again on an upcoming project next year. Sharpening mic skills while playing in bars, coffee houses, sidewalks, Dollar-Tree store openings and 5K marathons have all been great ways to make ends meet for Travis and his music. These shows have been successfully executed without the aid of a backing band. To this day, every recording features Travis playing drums, guitars and singing. Until now, that is, with \"The Truth\" behind him. The new band has hit the ground running. Longtime friend and professional drummer Rob Gibbs has joined with touring Nashville guitarist Keith Hodges and bass playing/song writing/string slinging Mike Fiorentino to bring Travis\' set alive. With a staggering synergy and calculating performance, TJ/T are sure to please audiences nationwide when they set out on the road. They are moving out on their first Northeast tour late 2008 and Western U.S in early 2009. Travis James & The Truth have already been featured on TijuanaFlats.com as the winner of their Southeast U.S regional \"Rock Out\" contest, and have played the main stage (making an impact on the A&R panels) at the 2008 Florida Music Festival. The band is currently looking into two placement deals and are looking forward to hitting the road and gaining radio airplay in early 2009.
