"In Stealth Mode" reflects my effort to express open up more about me through my music. Being a bit eclectic, i find it difficult to lock myself into one particular genre and still allow myself to grow; I have always felt a need to explore. In this album I reveal some of the fruits of my journey. Blues, Funk, Gospel, Jazz, Classical, Acoustics, Rock...and the list goes on. All of these genres and many of the artists the influenced them (for example, B.B. King, James Brown, Fred Hammond, Paul Hardcastle, Mozart, Tracy Chapman, Sting, Prince, etc.) have had some impact on how I play and what I play. Through such artists, I've learned that in the end, what really matters is that you're true to yourself about how you express yourself. It's fairly easy to mimic that artist that's already out there, but I choose to take the difficult high road, and dare to be an individual. Sometimes it works, and sometimes it doesn't, but life is too short to live it and then look back and tell yourself "I wonder what would have happened had I tried that." So, when you listen to "In Stealth Mode" I want you to go on a journey: groove smoothly with jams such as "You Know the Deal" & "Chance Encounter"; cruise down the street with the sunroof back to tunes like "Cruising Thru the Hood", "In Stealth Mode" & "A Wink and a Smile"; shake your tail feather to tunes like "Dance Because You Can" , "I Want Your Sexy" & "Jump and Down"; and simply relax and just relive love with the soft sounds of "This Love Will Never Die" & "First You Were My Friend." And when all is said and done, I really hope that you have as much fun listening and enjoying the tunes as I had creating and performing them. And maybe, just maybe, by the time you reach the end of the journey, you will understand the real meaning of what it means to be "In Stealth Mode." Much love!
